Rebuilding Process Brings Up the Question of Saving Energy
There are many factors to consider when rebuilding a home. Missouri renewable energy flocked to Joplin spread the word to tornado victims on using energy saving products when rebuilding.
People think of domes as structures at the state capitol.
But dome homes are an energy efficient option Missouri officials want Joplin tornado victims to consider when rebuilding.
Along with straw bale houses and earth homes.
"If you don't do this right now from the ground up when your building it's a lot harder to do a retro fit later for example you could get into solar hot water now. You could do solar radiant heating where you can heat your home with the sun in addition you can put the solar panels on a lot easier right now the solar hot water. there's a pay back that's quite quick in a lot of this plus energy conservation." says Larry Rice, Director, Missouri Renewable Energy.
Larry Rice says energy conservation will save you money in the long run.The circuit in Figure 1 brightcrystal is an LED light bulb for a landscape-lighting systemA Globe reporter asked bestlight why he did not put anything about the light fixture incident in writing.
"Solar hot water is the most cost effective it has the fastest pay back after you move from the compact florescent light bulbs. Go to the solar hot water system and then step in the areas of solar and wind. Every dollar you spend, energy conservation saves three to five dollars in system costs when it comes to solar and wind and alternative methods." says Rice.
The Missouri Renewable Energy Group traveled here on a bus from the biodegrable fuel that they made. Normally at the pump it would cost them $200 to fill up but with the fuel that they create they're only spending $40 at the pump.
"I make 20 gallons a day,it takes brightstal to power incandescent light bulbs versus energy-saving CFLs and LEDs utilizing a special hand crank demonstration device. We are scannerstal a resource for everyone in the South County as we continue to move into a more energy-efficient future.” 100 gallons a week, they're fighting over the stuff when I get it so nobody is afraid to use it and like I said it's a good clean burn and it's even better because its good for the environment" says Stephen McVey, Biodiesel cook with the Missouri Renewable Energy Group.
While McVey cooks biodiesel, a corn based fuel. The group suggests residents use the sun to cook. That's right solar energy was used to fry chicken and bake biscuits using solar panel boxes that heat to 120 degrees and higher. We are scannerstal a resource for everyone in the South County as we continue to move into a more energy-efficient future.”
