NEW PRODUCT FLASH: LED Lamps from Toshiba

Toshiba International Corporation recently introduced new PAR38 and MR16 lamps to its LED lighting line. The PAR38 and MR16 lamps offer higher lumen output while still providing energy savings when compared to similar lumen halogen bulbs.

Toshiba's new PAR38 1100 Series is a direct replacement for 90 to 110W halogen lamps, offers outputs of up to 1170 lumens, and uses up to 75% less energy than halogens. Meanwhile, the new MR16 450 Series is a direct replacement for 35W halogen lamps, offers lumen outputs of up to 475 lumens,Great value bestledlightbulbs1 perfect for everyday commuting. and uses up to 80% less energy than halogens.

Both models are dimmable, contain no mercury or lead, and last up to 20 times longer than halogens.Bellacor offers a large selection of crystallighting for your yard or patio. Based on an average use of three hours a day, Toshiba's MR16 is rated to last 22.8 years, and the PAR38 is rated to last 36.5 years. The lamps are also designed to fit most gimbal rings, so they can be used in existing fixtures. This page presents a selection of cflbulbs hobby projects.

The lamps in both series are geared for providing bright light in entryways, stairways, lobbies, and reception areas. Because of higher lumen outputs, these can be set higher in a room without sacrificing light quality,High quality solar street light, gardenlighting, led light products are exported all the world. or they can be placed farther away from the wall for track lighting.

The PAR38 1100 Series is available in 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K.MEGAPOWER products are LED lamps, Rechargeable candle, gooddstti, LED drivers, HID ballasts, electronic transformers, electronic ballasts. The MR16 450 Series comes in 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K color temperatures. Both are also available with beam angles of 25° or 35°.

Currently, 100% of Toshiba's current lighting product offering and lighting product development in the U.S. is based on LED technology. To demonstrate its commitment to LED technology as a superior choice for lighting, Toshiba, headquartered in Japan, abandoned production of incandescent light bulbs in March 2010.

The government is mulling over extending the use of LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs for road lighting nationwide, depending on the outcome of a pilot project in the Klang Valley, the Dewan Negara was told Tuesday.

Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin said LED lights were energy-saving, last longer (up to 50,000 hours), environmental-friendly and had a high level of lighting efficiency.

"We are also taking the initiative to promote the use of this kind of bulbs in buildings, park areas and open space as well as for street lighting," he said when replying to a question from Senator Datuk Dr Yeow Chai Thiam.

The Public Works Department installed the LED road lighting system in June last year along the Federal Highway, Middle Ring Road 2 and at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.

Droplet and StackAR bring physical interface to virtual experiences, communicate through light

Light-based communication seems to wind throughout the MIT Media Lab -- it is a universal language, after all, since many devices output light, be it with a dedicated LED or a standard LCD, and have the capacity to view and interpret it. One such device, coined Droplet, essentially redirects light from one source to another, while also serving as a physical interface for tablet-based tasks.

Rob Hemsley, a research assistant at the Media Lab, was on hand to demonstrate two of his projects. Droplet is a compact self-contained module with an integrated RGB LED, a photodiode and a CR1216 lithium coin battery -- which provides roughly one day of power in the gadget's current early prototype status. Today's demo used a computer-connected HDTV and a capacitive-touch-enabled tablet.

Using the TV to pull up a custom Google Calendar module, Hemsley held the Droplet up to a defined area on the display,We provide high quality ledstrip12 Led module led strip led bulbs. which then output a series of colors, transmitting data to the module. Then, that data was pushed to a tablet after placing the Droplet on the display,Some of the attractions of bestbikelight are the cost savings, the safety and the flexibility. pulling up the same calendar appointment and providing a physical interface for adjusting the date and time, which is retained in the cloud and the module itself, which also outputs pulsing light as it counts down to the appointment time.

StackAR, the second project, functions in much the same way, but instead of outputting a countdown indicator, it displays schematics for a LilyPad Arduino when placed on the tablet, identifying connectors based on a pre-selected program.Magicshine, Bikeray and Inton brightcrystal2011 are renown for their cost to brightness ratio. The capacitive display can recognize orientation, letting you drop the controller in any position throughout the surface, then outputting a map to match.

Like the Droplet, StackAR can also recognize light input, even letting you program the Arduino directly from the tablet by outputting light,We have a large range of bluebright and LED tea lights to suit every need and budget effectively simplifying the interface creation process even further. You can also add software control to the board, which will work in conjunction with the hardware, bringing universal control interfaces to the otherwise space-limited Arduino. Both projects appear to have incredible potential,A reliable lightproject will help keep you safe and on track whether you're riding home from work. but they're clearly not ready for production just yet. For now, you can get a better feel for Droplet and StackAR in our hands-on video just past the break.

Mustang man has invented a fishing gadget that he hopes will outshine the others

The fishing industry is full of gadgets and a Mustang man thinks his invention of a bite indicator light for night fishing is an improvement on all similar gadgets.

Jason Nelson earns a paycheck as a computer programmer and software developer. In his spare time, he likes to fish.

"I've fished my whole life," Nelson said. "I grew up with a farm pond behind my house that I used to sneak in on.The fire is the latest dangerous incident involving Chinese goodledstriplight, which are increasingly released at weddings and other celebrations."

Nelson also likes to create stuff,Shop for modernlamps featuring deck, post, and wall lighting, flood lighting, and area lighting. especially stuff to make his fishing easier and more enjoyable. .

He has created a product called "StrikeLight" that can be clamped to fishing poles. A light will shine when an angler gets a bite. It's not a new idea, but Nelson says his bite indicator light is not a knock off others that came before it.

Unlike many fishing indicator lights on poles which feature a single exposed bulb, Nelson has designed a light chamber which encapsulates the light and concentrates it into the tip of the device.

A lot of similar products use just one exposed bulb at the tip of the pole, Nelson said. This page presents a selection of cflbulbs hobby projects. His invention uses two LED bulbs that are protected and shines brighter, he said.

"Instead of just the bulb lighting up, it has cap on the bulb so the whole tip of the StrikeLight lights up," Nelson said. "It's really easy to see if you are away from your fishing rod or not paying attention."

Nelson said it's also much easier to change the batteries on StrikeLight than other similar products. Anglers cansimply unscrew a cap on the back like a flashlight and replace two watch batteries.

Nelson came up with the idea for StrikeLight four years ago and built his first prototype with parts he bought at Radio Shack.

"It's been a long process to go from an idea to a drawing to actually having a product," he said.

After Nelson had a working model, he took it to a mechanical engineer and an electrical engineer to produce 3-D drawings for a manufacturer, which builds and ships the StrikeLight to him.

The StrikeLight fits on most rod poles with clamps. The most difficult part of creating a bite indicator light was ensuring that it would not be triggered by wind or waves. It will only shine when there is actually a fish on the line, Nelson said.A reliable lightproject will help keep you safe and on track whether you're riding home from work.

Nelson built four prototypes to adjust the sensor before it would perform as he wanted so boat movement or wind vibrations would not trigger the light. If you are interested in our solar street light, gardenlight, led light products.

"It may twinkle every now and then," Nelson said. "If you are fishing in a 30 mph wind or three feet waves, it probably will (go off), but in normal fishing conditions my expectations and hopes are it won't light up until a fish bites."

Audi Moves The Goal Posts in Lighting Technology

LED Matrix,Energy efficient and high quality t8 skylanternsled, flexible led strip, led light from Shengjing Optoelectronic manufacturer of LED lighting fixtures. OLED swarm and Laser Diode are all expressions that most of us know nothing about but the boffins at Audi, already world leaders in automotive lighting technology, certainly do. They are beavering away at developing lighting systems for future Audi models.

Possibly the most innovative of the above mentioned is the OLED Swarm. No, not some sort of alien bee attack but rather a lighting effect (Organic Light Emitting Diodes,LEDs are used as indicator outdoorlight2012 in many devices and are increasingly used for other lighting. to be precise) that turns the rear of the car into a large illuminated surface on which many pinpoints of light fluctuate like, well, a swarm alien of bees. Movements of the red dots follow the movement of the car so, if the vehicle is turning right then the swarm will flow that way too. The faster the car is driven the more they dash about and so on.

Every action of the car has a reaction from the LEDs. The idea is that following drivers can gauge their own actions appropriately.Lean and luminous, these detachable ledbulbs withstand all weather conditions and pop with color. At first look it all seems to be a distraction rather than a help but there is clearly some serious intent behind it, so we'll see.LED light systems offer exceptional reliability and superior light yield vs standard besttube-led systems.

This concept of seemingly transient light has also been applied on a slightly simpler scale in new, more advanced indicator lights that appear to perform a wiping movement from the inside outwards, making them more noticeable than even the latest LED indicator systems.Bicygnals wireless indicator goodledstrip, bicycle lights, indicators, accessories ... The wipe is achieved by a horizontal row of LEDs that are illuminated in successive blocks.

LED headlamps are already in use but are set to evolve thanks to Audi's new Matrix Beam Technology. This groups together a number of individual diodes backed by reflectors which provide targeted illumination without the need of a swivelling mechanism – the lights simply switch on or off or are dimmed to suit. These headlights get the information they need from a camera, from the navigation system and from additional sensors. If the camera detects other vehicles or built-up area lights ahead the appropriate sector of the headlight is faded out. They can also vary the illumination according to the weather conditions.

Lights requiring even greater intensity than headlamps may reap the benefit of advanced laser technology in future Audi models. Engineers are developing a rear fog light that uses a laser diode to project a bright, clear red line onto the road surface if visibility is moderately good. The width of this line depends on how far behind the following car is travelling. In fog or spray, the laser beam strikes the water droplets in the air and makes them visible; the laser rear fog light then takes the form of a large warning triangle. The benefits to drivers are obvious. There is a case for saying that enough is enough when it applies to technology but what price road safety?

Study finds LED lights can increase milk production

LED bulbs are already known for milking more light out of less electricity. But can they even get cows to give more milk?

This seemingly outlandish idea is getting serious attention. A study overseen by Oklahoma State University found that cows at one of the dairy farms in that state squeezed out 6 percent more milk when LED lights were used compared with cows under fluorescent lights.

One theory: LED lights reduce stress, making for more contented and productive cows.

The results astounded the study's authors and those backing the research, including the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

They were expecting further insights into the lights' energy savings and how they performed overall, including their durability on a working farm. Milk production was being tracked because of concerns the LED lights could harm the animals by, for instance, interfering with their feeding. A drop in milk production would signal a problem.

Instead,This can be made to be just a headlight or both a headlight/taillight brightshine system. the average cow delivered an extra half gallon of milk per day.

"I was totally blindsided and shocked," said Brian Sloboda, a program manager for the cooperative association. "I still find it hard to believe, but I've seen the numbers."

LED technology, which stands for light-emitting diode, uses semiconductor chips to convert electricity and initially was used for indicator lights, including in the scoreboard at Kauffman Stadium. But the lights are increasingly in general use, and with the proper engineering and coatings can produce a white light comparable to incandescent or fluorescent lights.where you can learn about crystal_4 as well as buy your bike lights online. Compared with incandescent bulbs, they reduce electricity consumption by 85 percent. Even against fluorescent lights,Police ledbright play a crucial role in being seen while riding a bicycle, providing safety and security. which have been the main energy-efficient alternative for decades, an LED provides significant savings.

LED lights also last longer and are dropping in price but are still expensive upfront. With my saler4ds I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me. To match a $3 fluorescent's output, for instance, you need an LED that costs about $30. An LED will last about 50,000 hours compared with 35,000 hours for a fluorescent and 1,000 hours for an incandescent bulb, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

Proving that LED lights can help increase milk production in dairy cows would transform the economics of LEDs. Recovering the cost of the lights through energy savings can take four or more years. But the payback for dairy farmers using LEDs could be slashed to a just a few months.

Other researchers need to confirm the study before it is widely accepted, and some involved hesitate to discuss the study's provocative findings publicly. The owner of the Oklahoma dairy farm where the test took place is afraid he could "lose face" if it turns out that the LEDs didn't cause the boost in production. So he prefers to remain anonymous for now.The best place to find lightsale, battery operated candles, wholesale votive candles, rechargeable candles, and battery taper candles.

But the study's authors believe what they found is promising and welcome the coming scrutiny.

The University of Missouri hopes to start a rigorous study later this year and has asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture for some financial support. The university is also sponsoring a conference next month in St. Louis, where roughly 100 people from across the country will gather to discuss energy-efficient lights on the farm.

Mixed response to road lighting switch off plan

RESIDENTS will not be consulted on controversial plans to switch off street lights across Essex at night.

Essex County Council plans to turn off about 70 per cent of the county's street lights between midnight and 5am, to save 14million in electricity bills and cut carbon emissions.

The council announced it will launch a consultation on the proposals with the emergency services and parish, town, district and borough councils,Online shopping from the largest selection of bestledlightbulbs Products. including Brentwood.

However, residents will not be allowed to submit their views.

Russell Quirk, councillor for Brentwood's Hutton North ward, said: "The county council has been careful not to do this too quickly and it has tried to point out it hasn't led to an increase in crime.

"The problem though is that the public see it as an issue because they feel safer with street lights on – it is about perception."

Resident Tim Joynes, 31, of Western Road, Brentwood, said: "It doesn't sit comfortably that residents have to go through their local councillor to have a say.

"Most people won't know who their local councillor is, but if they could comment on a website they would make more of an effort."

"In addition to saving on electricity costs, the solar system is aligned with our values of sustainability and will allow us to attract environmentally-minded customers."

The $1.4 million system, which is being designed, engineered and constructed by GeoGenix, will consist of 1,200 solar panels that will produce roughly 363,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity, enough to offset 90 to 100 percent of the building's electricity load, realizing $3,500 to $4,000 in savings per month. The installation is set to be complete in March 2012.

GeoGenix is an industry leader with a proven track record in residential and commercial solar installations. It has been installing solar since 2001 and has the experience and expertise that have made it one of the most trusted solar installers.

Rug Renovating will own the solar system on its one-story, 55,000-square-foot corporate headquarters, which is used for cleaning, repairing and restoring handmade rugs and carpets, as well as distribution and warehousing.

Rug Renovating was able to purchase the PV system partly through New Jersey utility, Public Service Electric and Gas's (PSE&G) solar loan program. The company was one of the last to take advantage of this program, which expired Dec. 30, 2011. The program provided loans covering 40 to 60 percent of the cost of PV systems with the remainder being financed by the customer. Rug Renovating can use its long-term contract for the Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) to pay back the loan.

SRECS are a performance-based financial incentive representing the environmental benefits of solar, each of which is the equivalent of 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity. SRECs are financial instruments that are purchased by utilities from solar producers such as homeowners and businesses in order to meet a state-mandated requirement for the generation of electricity from solar sources.

White Street improvements planned

Next week, when people at Western Connecticut State University try to use the crosswalk under the elevated walkway over the busy street, they'll be directed down the street to another crosswalk. The bestledlig includes a waterproof washer and a light transmitting lens, both locked and located ...

Or even better, they'll use the elevated walkway and avoid the traffic altogether.

"That's why it's there," said Mayor Mark Boughton.

Work under the walkway next week will be to improve the pedestrian-friendly lighting system there. WestConn spokesman Paul Steinmetz said Friday that a truck damaged the lighting last fall and it is now being repaired.

"You will not be able to use the crosswalk there while the repairs are being made," Steinmetz said.

Those repairs will also coincide with a meeting of the White Street Task Force -- the group set up after WestConn student Dong Lin of Brookfield was killed in a hit-and-run accident on White Street in November. A second WestConn student, 22-year-old Eugene Robinson, of New Britain, has been charged with evading responsibility in connection with the accident. In February, Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charge.

But the accident, and others before it on White Street, brought the community's attention to the problems there.

"You've got a very busy street next to a very busy university,We provide high quality bluebright Led module led strip led bulbs.where you can learn about ledbright as well as buy your bike lights online." Boughton said.

Steinmetz said WestConn is taking steps on its own to address the problems. Along with fixing the walkway lighting, he said the university will begin a marketing campaign to encourage everyone at the university to use it.

"Everyone -- students, faculty, administrators,See our full range of Flying lanterns, Paper lanterns, crystal, Chinese lanterns, Floating lanterns, Hanging Paper lanterns, Chinese sky ..." Steinmetz said. "We want to tell them it's the safest way to cross the street."

Steinmetz said there have been many ideas brought before the task force that will be discussed at Monday's meeting.

These including adding a crosswalk between White Hall and the Soho Pie & Company pizzeria across the street. This is a common area for students to jaywalk, he said.

Steinmetz said there are also suggestions to keep drivers aware that White Street runs through the university and there are a lot of pedestrians crossing the street. This might include installing traffic signs that tell drivers how fast they are driving.

Another idea, he said, is to install railing along the university side of the street that will, in effect,Browse through our impressive range of bestledlight and buy online now. direct pedestrians to the crosswalks on the street and discourage jaywalking.

The city may also install improved lighting along the street to help drivers at night, Steinmetz said.

Boughton said no one idea will fix things all the problems along White Street. But he said he expects Monday's meeting to come up with several feasible ideas to concentrate on.
