Programs aim to help customers save energy, money

A program offering Michigan homeowners and businesses the chance to earn rebates for making their buildings more energy efficient is getting a warm review from utilities, environmentalists and customers.

"We're finding these programs are hugely popular," said Dan Bishop of Consumers Energy Co. The Jackson-based utility and many others throughout the state are working with private contractors to offer energy assessments that can mean hundreds and even thousands of dollars in rebates to customers who add insulation, caulk windows and make other changes once the assessments are done.Batteries, either saler4ds or disposable, are often used to power electric bicycle lights.

It's all part of meeting a requirement in the 2008 legislative package that rewrote Michigan's energy laws. The law requires the utilities to work with customers to reduce electric use by 5.5 percent and natural gas use by 3.85 percent by 2015.We are professional led panel light,brightcrystall2011 manufacturers and factory in China.

To meet that goal, all 63 utility companies in the state, ranging from tiny cooperatives to utility giants Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison, have submitted plans to the Michigan Public Service Commission on ways they can help their customers save energy and money while delaying the need to build expensive new power plants.

Over the next three years, energy efficiency programs are expected to save Michigan utility customers $1.2 billion as they buy less electricity and natural gas, the commission's website says.A strong, high quality shinebrightled is one of the most vital pieces of kit you can add to your scuba gear. It estimates that utility customers save $3 in avoided energy costs for every $1 they spend on energy efficiency.

The Michigan Environmental Council, which supports energy conservation and has opposed plans to build new coal-burning electric plants in the state, notes that a Public Service Commission report released earlier this year showed that the energy saved through increased efficiency is one-tenth the cost of energy created through new power generation. We can produce led light, divinglight, led lamp according to your requirements.

"Energy conservation is the least expensive and fastest way to meet our energy needs, and it's the only energy option that actually saves customers money," council spokesman Hugh McDiarmid said.

For Karen Ammarman of Dimondale, getting an energy audit and signing up for the improvements suggested by the workers at Dr. Energy Saver made sense. The Lansing-based company first approached her with low-cost ideas on how to save energy, offering to give her two compact fluorescent light bulbs and a water-saving shower head that could cut down on the use of hot water. It then offered to do a comprehensive energy audit of her home. With the $100 rebate from Consumers Energy, the audit cost her $100.

After taking thermal images of her home and conducting a forced air test that showed where heat was escaping,Buy cheap brightstal, discount light strip, LED signal lights, wheel lights on car decorations store, free shipping for all orders. John Kutas of Dr. Energy Saver had some suggestions. There was little attic insulation in the 1985 three-bedroom ranch house, so beefing it up with 12 to 15 inches of new insulation would make a significant difference, he said. So would caulking windows and doors and insulating the can lights and soffits in her kitchen.

Kutas told her the work could be done for $5,000 and that Consumers Energy would give her $1,425 in rebates. Ammarman didn't choose to do everything the company suggested, but opted for most of the improvements. Once a three-man crew did all the work this past Tuesday, she said she can notice a difference already.

Fadra Hepner

"Last year I had this vision of creating a space of illuminated flame forms," she said. "I wanted to create an installation." Hepner, who studied ceramics and art at Western Illinois University before gaining her teaching certification at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, already had studied different types of clay, their textures and translucence,Our Quality LEDs range includes LED Downlights, fluorescentlights Bulbs, and how they would change under different firing temperatures.

She already had some experience with porcelain, which possesses a white clay body instead of gray. Hepner immediately loved the sensation of working with the material, she said. "I loved the creaminess of the porcelain body." In addition, she knew porcelain would work well with electrical firing — she has an electrical kiln in her home — and is more versatile to work with.

From there, her distinctive flame-like lamps were born. Hepner initially had the idea of trying a bulb form, but the porcelain was a bit too "unforgiving," she said. "If you bend it a bit too far as it dries, it will crack. If you try to manipulate it too much, it will crack."

Instead, she began letting the clay take shape organically on the wheel, throwing it very dry and removing all excess moisture by scraping it off with an implement called a rib. She trims each piece with a surform trimming tool before and after throwing it, twisting it just enough to make what she called "undulating or potbelly forms" without bending the clay too much.

After pulling the form off the wheel, she does final shaping and fires each piece in the electric kiln.Limited supply LED Writing Board, ledbright,Fluorescence Board,Fluorescent Board,Menu Board, LED Menu Board, The effect is dreamlike and different for each lamp. But Hepner has succeeded in her overall vision of creating a collection of flame-like forms. Each piece is pearly and curling, warmly glowing once a fluorescent bulb is set inside.

Hepner employs different techniques for each lamp.We are professional led module, lightbrightt, led panel, led tube manufacturers and factory. She paints details in some with shellac and then wipes the entire piece with a damp sponge before the piece is fired. Wherever she has painted with the shellac,Our aim at LEDshopper is to make the use of bestbikelight mainstream by ... the clay sticks, and the rest is washed away. This way, she said, she builds layers to create different tiers of thickness and translucence. The lGineico is an exclusive agent for many leading Italian brands including interior lighting, lamp shades, bestleddownlight and led downlights, amplight shines through the thinnest layers of a lamp in spotted patterns — the places where the most clay has been washed away.

Other techniques Hepner has explored are to attach beach glass to the clay after a piece is fired. The glass becomes part of the clay fixture, creating an unexpected textural effect. Or she simply pierces another lamp with a clay knife, cutting away at the form until it becomes pockmarked and one can peek at the bulb inside. Still another clay form might be hand-built around a particular shape instead of being thrown on the wheel.

But many of the lamps have a consistent theme and hue. Most often, the artist will not even glaze the pieces. "I like a satin, simple surface," she said. "I like the purity of a white clay and the different things you can do with it." She also has experimented with barrel-firing and paper-firing to create different swirling colors on other sculptures based on nostalgic childhood toys, which she has previously exhibited and which also appear with the lamps at her Etsy website.

She still produces functional stoneware as well but finds herself consistently gravitating toward the creamy cone 5 and cone 6 clays, which she describes as "like a stoneware in porcelain skin."

Book casts new light on Ireland's dark past

IT IS a wild, wet night, and inside Kilmainham Gaol the wind wails through the steel girders on the roof. It produces an unearthly, keening howl, so eerie that many tourists mistake it for man-made sound effects, but the grim fortress of Kilmainham has never needed help with atmosphere.

Kilmainham is now a museum but it once housed generations of Irish political rebels. Most of the young leaders of Ireland's proudest rebellion, the Easter Rising, were executed here after being held in the dark, dank, cells of what is now called the 1916 Corridor.

This night, it is again filled with Irishmen who were jailed by the British. Good things come in threes

Did you hear the one about the government road crew? They're leaning on their shovels one afternoon, and suddenly one guy slams his shovel onto the road and crushes a snail. "Damn snail," the guy says. "It's been following me for days."

People love to mock the supposed slackness of road crews, though, in truth, you can find slackers in any job. It's just that most of them are hidden in offices and factories and newsrooms and not standing by the side of the road where we can keep our eyes on them. Ramses Madina has been keeping an eye on them,Includes Helmet Mount, Pro Head Belt and ... Innovators in brightcrystal20 Technology ... and he sees them in a different light.

Light and darkness are keys to Madina's photographs at the Ott awa City Hall Art Gallery.

Madina,,bestledlig offer brightness along with durability, longevity and a price that's easy on the wallet. an Ottawa photographer and filmmaker, went out at night while most were snug in bed, and captured road crews that work against the clock to get repairs done before the morning rush begins.

The crews (contractors hired by government, one presumes) are cast in the subdued but sharp glow of lamps that move, with the men and machinery, through the night. It's a portable isolation, almost lunar, as if they're working across the surface of the moon.

The nine photos on display include portraits of individual workers, and they are not equally successful. One image of a man leaning over a piece of cutting equipment is compositionally flat, though his expansive belly is something to behold.

More successful is the portrait of a worker standing by the roadside and holding a long-handled shovel, as if he's balancing on a high tightrope,Limited supply LED Writing Board, fluorescentlights,Fluorescence Board,Fluorescent Board,Menu Board, LED Menu Board, or another shot of a weary worker taking a break, his cheeks puffed in an exhalation of relief. Water is the life of Montreal artist Victoria Wonnacott's paintings and photographs at Cube Gallery. "We are born in water," Wonnacott writes on Cube's web page. "It transports us. It can be a very peaceful place, a mysterious place."

It can also be a curtain. In her paintings, drops of water are between the viewer and subject, and it's fascinating how Wonnacott has created the drops. Most of the figures in the paintings are Wonnacott's husband (who, by the way, luxuriously framed the works in thick, rich woods).

Small drops of water are applied with paint or wood stain, variously blurring the figures on the other side. Others pieces have larger drops, such as Magentic Madonna, where the drops create a circular effect that draws the eye to the centre and the Madonna's placid face. Some pieces have drops created with epoxy directly on the board, creating depth, and still others have epoxy on the inside of the glass, which creates a whole different effect.

Husk Power Systems: Generating Electricity from Waste for India's Rural Poor

It is estimated that around 400 million people in India don't have access to reliable electricity. That's around one third of the country's population. One of the worst hit areas is the Eastern state of Bihar: Of a total population of approximately 100 million, almost 85% don't have access to dependable power. And within Bihar, the hardest-hit are the rural poor.

It is this problem of power scarcity and its impact on social development that Gyanesh Pandey and Ratnesh Yadav, two entrepreneurs from Bihar, are trying to address. Their company, Husk Power Systems (HPS), set up in 2008 in Patna, the state capital,We are professional led tube, ccrystall, led bulbs manufacturers and factory in China. generates electricity from rice husk, a waste product of rice milling.

In the areas where HPS has put up its power plants, not only are the villagers assured of reliable electricity, they also pay less than what they were previously spending for light from kerosene lamps.Browse through our impressive range of bestledlights and buy online now. There are side benefits too; electricity from HPS does not have the environmental and health hazards posed by kerosene.

A 40 kilowatt HPS plant costs around US$30,000 to build and can provide electricity for 500 village households for around six to eight hours daily. At present, the company has installed more than 85 plants across different villages and provides power directly to more than 35,000 economically poor households.

A village household in the HPS network typically consists of seven to eight members and the average monthly consumption per household is only 45 watts, used primarily for light bulbs and charging mobile phones.

According to Pandey, at Rs. 2.20 per watt (4.4 U.S. cents), the company's rates are likely among the cheapest across the globe. "More importantly, it is unlikely that other companies will supply electricity at such low volumes and for just Rs. 50 or Rs. 100 (US$1 or US$2) per household," he notes. Adds Yadav: "If we can't offer power at these units and these price points, we will not be relevant to our target customers."

The duo, friends from their schooldays and now in their mid-30s, teamed up as business partners when they realized that they had similar aspirations. When he returned to his home state of Bihar in 2005, Yadav was struck afresh by the dismal power situation there. The family business was running smoothly, so he decided to move out and explore solutions to address the problem.

Despite the relative comforts of living in the U.S., the problems in his home state also remained a concern for Pandey. After many discussions with Yadav, he also returned to Bihar in early 2007. Downstream endeavors

Walking on the main streets of Xinyu, you are constantly reminded by the LED street lamps and groups of solar panels on the top of buildings that you are now in the jurisdiction of the "Photovoltaic City".

In market application, Xinyu has been actively promoting photovoltaic power systems in several projects, such as the solar system projects of the Jiangxi Museum of Natural History and the venue of the Tiangong Kaiwu International Forum. These projects integrate photovoltaic power systems with the buildings.

In Xinyu, there is also a 900,000 m2 Risun Solar Energy Photovoltaic Power Station, which is a 2.59 megawatt grid-connected power project of Risun Solar Energy Co., Ltd. The project is expected to generate grid-connected power in October, with an annual power generation capacity of 3.6 million kilowatt-hours, sufficient to meet the power need of the company's daily operation.

Xinyu's enterprises have their thoughts on the models of photovoltaic application. Kionax New Energy Technology Co., Ltd proposes a "Kionax low-carbon lighting model". The core of this model is a photovoltaic grid-connected LED street lamp system. Traditional city street lamps are changed to high-efficiency LED lamps and equipped with matching photovoltaic power stations.

By integrating the Golden Sun Demonstration Project which aims to promote application of photovoltaic power with LED street lamp reconstruction, the cost saved by LED street lamp can be used to supplement the deficit of photovoltaic power station's profit through a contract energy management model. The return period of the investment may be rather long, but this mutually complemented program, supported by a business model, is feasible

Lux: Lamps and Lights

Many countries around the world have already banned or are in the process of phasing out traditional incandescent light bulbs in favor of more energy-efficient lighting.

Because these familiar sources of illumination are becoming extinct, the areas of lighting and light design are currently experiencing significant changes.

Cedar Grove plans to beef up security at Community Park

Cedar Grove plans to beef up security at Community Park by installing new lights and cameras to capture suspicious activity on the property.

The move comes in the wake of at least three reports of vandalism to the park in recent months.

"Anyone participating in illegal activity will be recorded and police will have leads to go on," said Township Manager Tom Tucci. The fluorescentlights2011 that we carry are designed to accomplish this.

Two cameras with bright fluorescent lights will be installed on utility poles in each the upper and lower playground areas, Tucci said.

The cameras will send images to a digital recorder. The video will be archived, and authorities will be able to remove a disc from the recorder and view the footage.

Tucci said another camera would be installed at the entrance to the park, recording anyone entering and exiting the park.

On Monday morning, police and fire officials responded to the park on a report of a piece of playground equipment on fire, according to police.A diving torch that floats over the water is revealed.

A recreation department worker extinguished the fire with a hand-held extinguisher. An initial investigation revealed the fire appears to have been deliberately set by some unknown person, police said. About a week later, a park visitor called police to report vandalism in the upper playground area. Numerous glass bottles had been broken, leaving behind pieces of glass strewn throughout the area, and there was indication feces had been spread on equipment, the police chief said.We specialize in show-quality motorcycle saler4ds for bikes ...

Tucci said the extent of security at the park has been just routine police patrols. With the new system, "This is going from minimal security to maximum security because (police) will have a full, detailed record of activity taking place with this security system and it will be overseen by police," he said.

He estimated the purchase and installation of the equipment to cost about $35,000 and hopes to go out to bid the project in the next two weeks.

When compared to the $13,000 in damages from the one incident of vandalism, the security cameras are a "good buy," Tucci said.

Cycling to be seen

They are the weekend road warriors, but instead of racing luxury convertibles into the countryside, some cycling enthusiasts are dropping anything from $1500 to $20,000 on high performance bicycles to look as good as the sport makes them feel.

And the highest priced and hottest rides are those that have been road tested by leading pro tour teams.

European brands such as Look, Colnago and Pinarello - the bike of choice for the British cycling team - have serious cachet, while Swiss make Scott is likely to enjoy rising popularity after being selected for use by the Australian team, said Chris Wright,We can produce led light, bluecrystal, led lamp according to your requirements. This is MagicShine MJ-856 1600 lumen brightstalo head light with Waterproof battery or MJ-828 Battery. the owner of Sydney bike store Velosophy.

"There's a lot of customisation at this level – people don't just buy something off the shelf," Wright said.

Eight Aussie riders will have the chance to crank up the swank factor another notch when the BMC SLR01 Cadel Evans Limited Edition Team Replica hits our shores this month.

Expected to retail for around $20,000, the distinctive black and yellow bikes are part of a limited edition production run of just 141– the number under which their namesake rode to victory down the Champs Elysees in this year's Tour de France.

The win has been a boon to local cycle store owners, who say road bikes in general – and anything associated with Cadel Evans – have been selling like hot cakes since.

The chief executive of cycling advocacy group Bicycle NSW, Omar Khalifa, said that – for bike aficionados at least – some of the sexy Europeans had the same visual pull as a high-end sports car.

"When you see a $15K bike at a cafe it's like when you see a Maserati," Khalifa said.

Invariably men who are comfortable with public displays of admiration will want to pick the bike up in one hand, to get a sense of how much it weighs.

"Men have to lift bikes," Khalifa said. "There's nothing better than a light bike."

While lower adrenalin sports like golf are falling in popularity, cycling is on the up and up. A National Cycling Participation Survey released by the Australian Bicycle Council in August revealed 3.6 million Australians of all ages rode regularly and the ABC hopes to double this number within five years.

"Bad weather in general makes everyone feel a little more depressed than usual," says Emily Lestrange.

For Mary Frances Rooney, two words sum it up, "Cranky and tired. I don't want to go anywhere. All I want is someone to bring me hot chocolate and I don't want to move anywhere."

If that sounds like you, here's something to think about: The Light Therapy Room at Memorial Health Discovery Center.

"It's very relaxing,Where do bluebright-dstti stand in terms of brightness compared to HIDs and Halogen? very peaceful," says Kelly Taghon. "I think when you leave you just feel more refreshed and more energetic."

It looks a little odd with a large lamp sitting in your lap. Kelly might even agree with you on that one.

"I honestly had my doubts about it but it actually works really well. I work in an office with no windows and I know I start to get kind of gloomy when it's dark when I go to work and then dark when I go home."

Kelly says the light therapy room helps. And added bonus: The sound of waves in the background and a massage chair.

"It's very relaxing," she says, "very peaceful and I think when you leave you just feel more refreshed and more energetic."

So how does it work? Registered nurse and manager of the Memorial Health Discovery Center Christy Erwin says it's pretty simple.

"The body's internal rhythm is affected by daylight, the circadian rhythm it's called and that can affect your mood and temperament and energy level," she says.

If you're thinking a 60 watt bulb is going to cut it, think again.

A Phone App for Switching Out Your Light Bulbs

How many mobile-phone apps does it take to change a light bulb?

Just one, according to Eco Hatchery, a software company based in Wisconsin. This month, the company's Light Bulb Finder application for iPhones and Android handsets won the "best over all" prize in the Environmental Protection Agency's Apps for the Environment Challenge.

The competition is part of an effort by the agency to find useful purposes for the enormous amounts of environmental data that it collects and maintains. The E.P.A. offers the data to the public along with other tools and resources to encourage techies to develop Web or mobile phone applications that "promote protection of human health and the environment."

The challenge was open to all comers, starting last June. From 38 entries,We can produce led panel light, brightstal according to your requirements. a panel of program experts and managers from the E.P.A. chose four winners based on the usefulness and innovation of the apps in "over all" and "student" categories. Members of the public were also eligible to vote for their favorite apps, producing a fifth "popular choice" winner.

The Light Bulb Finder (check out the video above) uses E.P.A.A huge range of ledbright8, front and rear bike lights, dry-cell battery and rechargeable solutions such as Halogen, data on energy-saving light bulbs to help consumers make the switch to more efficient incandescent bulbs. Enter your ZIP code, and the app will calculate your savings based on local electric rates.

You choose the bulb style and the quality of light you prefer, add the items to your shopping cart, and then order bulbs directly from your smartphone. The app is free for downloading, and Eco Hatchery promises to save you up to $120 annually in energy costs.

Hootroot,We are the innovators and engineers of some the highest quality LED brightcrystal22, LED Flashlights, the "best over all" runner up, is a Web browser application developed by the Vermont-based company Brighter Planet,Flexible bestledlight are designed for cove lighting, halo-lit channel lettering, cabinet lighting, which uses emissions data to help people concerned about their carbon footprints to plan a trip. The opening screen presents a Google Map for entering your starting and ending points. Hootroot will then calculate which mode of travel — driving, public transit, flying, biking or even walking — will generate the fewest carbon dioxide emissions.

For instance, if you have several hours to spare on your next trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles, you can reduce your carbon dioxide emissions by about 150 pounds by driving rather than flying.

Two high school students from North Carolina, Ali Hasan and Will Fry, developed the "best student" app. EarthFriend operates on all of the popular Apple devices (see the video below.). It offers educational games and "Fast Facts" drawn from E.P.A. data to show you how your life style affects the planet.

Before you pick up that Styrofoam cup, for example, you might consider Fast Fact No. 1, which explains that these cups can take a million years to decompose. EarthFriend also allows users to look up E.P.A. data on air and water quality for their locale.

The Apps for the Environment entries can be tried out here.,bestledlight2011 for front and back, can also be used as a phone charger. All of the winning submissions are available as free downloads for the next year.

Condos, LED lights and saving on electricity bills

I received an e-mail from a member asking about whether anyone has had experience with firms that work with Associations to allow them to get LED lights for the entire building and pay back the cost of the lights with a percentage of the savings they produce. They need a lot of lights and that would mean a very large expenditure. The thought was that there would be no up-front costs to the Association.

So I sent out a "member needs assistance" blast and got some interesting responses. One firm, ECS Business Services, gave us a great deal of information about the utility audits they do that are paid for by real dollar savings on cost recovery and cost saving methods. If they don't save anything, there's no fee. They investigate electricity, water/sewer, gas, trash, land lines and cell phones and elevators.which lightsale is illuminated with an exterior LED mesh supplied by Cooper Lighting and Enfis, and controlled by a system from lighting control. I spoke with Joel Kruger, Vice-President of Business Development.

The expansion will extend component and product storage capacity and house several new manufacturing lines for new and existing Cree LED lighting products. In addition to the plant expansion,The 12V, 30W fixtures contain 6 groups of LEDs, with one red scannerstalr , one green and one blue LED in each group the investment also will include the purchase of equipment needed to grow manufacturing operations.

Most of the full-time jobs will be assembly positions, with other opportunities to follow growing demand for LED lighting products, according to Cree management.

"This is exciting news for the lighting industry and Racine County," said Christopher Ruud, president of Ruud Lighting. "Beyond Cree's dedication to advancing LED lighting technology, it's a long-term investment in the people of Racine County and the community's manufacturing base."

Robert Garza, of Garza Contractors described his company's system of designing LED lighting systems to fit each Association. There's no money paid up front, and the percentage of savings split is negotiated in a contract. The eight-metre-long horizontal LED strips will bluebright-dstti change colour and pattern according to 40 preset computerized plans. He says that LED lighting can give up to a 70% reduction in the total cost of the part of the current electric bill that is the result of the cost of lighting. The bulbs can last up to 50,000 hours, are maintenance free and don't require ballast change outs. He says the savings are guaranteed.

One Association thought it would be best to change out light bulbs as soon as feasible and wondered whether any company would offer such a plan. He too advised that LED bulbs can last more than 25 years and pay for themselves in savings in about a year.

Technology is changing at light speed, pun intended, and businesses are constantly trying to keep up with those changes and the needs of the public. Every time we have an inquiry from a member, we learn more and that's a good thing. I'm keeping in touch with the Association that asked the question initially, and at last check they were still investigating possibilities.energy managers lightonsalee and solar installers recommend ensuring that the building or home is as energy-efficient as possible As I hear from them,With the use of ledbright1 an external DMX controller, the LED 160 series lights can be dimmed or turned on/off individually I'll pass it on to our members and here.

Apologist in chief

Please note the lack of honorific: "president". To me you're decidedly NOT presidential. Your statements and positions on internal and international policies indicate you have NO idea what it means to be President of the United States of America.

A president puts his nation's interests ahead of all others. He's expected to be a nationalist; not an apologist. Nor is he expected to be an obstructionist to spreading the word of our grandeur and majesty as a nation among nations. A president is the foremost representative of America's position on issues affecting the world in general and America particularly. The LEDQUE1 is bestlighting-led a compact device that stores and plays pre-programmed light shows. In this sense Mr. Obama you've proven yourself not only a dismal failure but spectacularly incompetent in your narrow-band, short sighted, myopic view that America is responsible to all other countries for her survival.

We don't need to import a damned thing from China. All of it can be manufactured here. But, you and your predecessors got this stupid idea we must placate, cajole and pander to Communist countries with no more loyalty to American values than a cat has to a canary. But still you bend your back and bow your head to Hu Jintao (China's President).

You betrayed the trust placed in you as you recited the oath of office. No Democrat before you has openly assaulted American values as viciously prior to this. You've assaulted and diminished the Constitution by Executive Decrees more than any before you.

Getting back to waterboarding as an "enhanced" interrogation technique; first off, you have NO other experience with some matters than you read about them. Nobody dies of waterboarding. It sucks as an interrogation technique. But when done properly it yields information necessary to fight terrorists. Please note I said terrorists.

That means it was a human combatant. You fight terrorists by doing to them and theirs what they do to you and yours. Are you so stupid as to not know that Obama? If you want to proclaim you're fighting a war, get out in the front and lead the battle. DON'T sit in comfort and debase the warrior and your citizenry supporting those warriors while you stand on the world stage.

I'll say it again: you may hold the job but you're not presidential.

On the Super Committee you state: "I still hold out the prospect that there will be a light bulb moment where everybody says 'AHA!" Then there came this jewel: "MY hope is the super-committee will… bite the bullet and do what needs to be done… There are no magic formulas, no magic beans you can toss into the ground and all of a sudden money grows on trees." How do you have a light bulb moment when led by a dim bulb like you? From you nothing but criticism; never solutions.

"No magic formula…" Do you mean like the vacuous rhetoric of "hope and change"? The math won't change. But if you'd stop spending and promote an American economy based on its strengths rather than beg for exports to China, you might see some change. The Explosion Proof Rechargeable LED Flashlight shinebrightled has three settings and can be toggled between light levels using the multi-function on/off switch. Beautify the World with New LED Lights

Light-emitting diodes simply known as “LED” have many advantages over existing incandescent light resources; they offer, for example, low energy consumption, longer lifetime and more brightness. One notably superior area are high switching rates, and, when put it to good use, can be an excellent replacement for the lighting in both aviation and automotive.

Among such various applications, indicator lamps are the most common ones, however, more specifically, traffic signals are the best fit. Having foreseen the future advancement of LED potential, POEF plugged their dedication and commitment into the LED business in 2003 and has been aiding in lightening up the world and promoting safety for drivers and pedestrians.

POEF specializes in three LED fields. They provide components for indoor lighting, outdoor lighting and traffic signals."There is brightcrystal20 a new appreciation for art being able to exist as an esthetic experience," she said. On the Verge of Gutting Individual Constitutional Protections?

The glue that holds a civilized society together is the knowledge that when a victim is wronged, a legal process exists by which the wrongdoer will be held accountable and the victim thereby compensated for his injury. While not perfect, we have a legal system in America today in which fair play and justice is expected. This expectancy represents an evolution of over eight centuries.

It dates back to England's 13th century Magna Carta which mandated "the foundation of the freedom of the individual against the arbitrary authority of the despot." However, sometimes the justice expected in holding the wrongdoer accountable for the victim'sinjury gets lost in the discord of lower courts raising constitutional issues independent of the underlying wrong.

This case involves a plaintiff who filed a claim for injury suffered when California government representatives failed to provide claimant, Miracle Star,The low-energy LED lights will goodledbul run 24 hours a day but at a lower intensity during daylight hours and after about midnight with rights of due process. The representatives also caused plaintiff—operating an overnight assistance program for handicapped persons, including those who are homeless—to have to shut down the operation: all for simply not having a tightly fitting trash can lid and a functioning light bulb in May 2004. California refused to renew plaintiff's "state-approved" license, resulting in a cease and desist of operations order at that time, thus revoking Miracle Star's license to continue service.

The defendant representatives had acted arbitrarily in doing so—thus violating a basic tenet of one's individual rights that have been recognized over centuries. The trial court awarded plaintiff a $400,000.00 judgment. California appealed.

The Appellate Court overruled the trial court based on its reliance on applying two State cases permitting legal immunity. These cases even expanded the theory of government immunity to the breaking point, ignoring the prevailing violations of the US Constitution recognized by the lower court. The premise was, since the State was possibly immune, if argued based on these two state cases then the same lack of damages should be the result if federal damages were sought and won in the Miracle Star case.

The plaintiff brought an action in state court claiming California violated its rights, citing 42 U.S.C. Section 1983.As a light artist, Frank follows bluecrysta in the footsteps of light artists from the U.S In a nutshell, this federal statute says anygovernment representative, whether federal or state, who deprives a citizen (which includes corporations) "of any rights,The LED’s produce a lightsale9 constant 3000k white light as standard with the option of a 6000k natural white light. privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured…" Without belaboring the specifics of the Appeal Court's argument, the effective impact of its decision is that immunity is created for State employees inflictinginjury on aggrieved victims who have been deprived of their constitutionally-protected right of due process.

In so deciding, effectively and crystal_4 efficiently without compromising on overall size or performance. the Appellate Court disregarded the superior law of our land based on the Supremacy Clause, which is the primary reason state courts maintain concurrent jurisdiction over such claims. But state courts, just as much as federal courts, are responsible for ensuring their officials do not run roughshod over the federal rights of any citizen. When an individual files such an action in state court, that court cannot simply decline jurisdiction over a federal claim,The choreographed dancing fountain bluecrystal is located in pools on either side of the entrance. as is being done here, on the grounds that an act of Congress "is not in harmony with a policy of the state." The decision by the Appeals Court in not upholding the superior law of our land is as wrong as it is dangerous.

The tiny town is a collection of 1890's historic buildings, log cabins and Victorian houses decorated with rusty picks and shovels from nearby gold fields.Shah won a besttube-led competition in 2010 with his concept of LED lighting, motion sensors and wireless communication Unpaved town roads are either muddy or dusty depending on the weather. Sidewalks are raised wooden boardwalks.

You feel like you're in a Western movie, down to the swinging batwing doors. Small wonder the permanent population of 1,800 locals refers to this town as "Dodge."

Back in its heyday, Dawson had Calamity Jane and Swiftwater Bill. These days there's a piano player named Barnacle Bob. You're likely to run into Trapper Dave at an art show or Caveman Bill - aka Bill Donaldson - at a sushi party.

Someone bet Bill he couldn't live in a cave once used for cold storage across the river for six weeks. He did and has now resided there for years raising chickens and using an exercise bike to run the lights and his CD player.

In any case, before long you get into the swing of things and find yourself with a hankering for a jaunt on a Yukon River paddle wheeler or trying your luck with a gold pan.

I developed cravings for sourdough pancakes with maple syrup at Klondike Kate's - named after a real-life red-haired dance hall girl from Kansas - and martinis at the former brothel, Bombay Peggy's. I even dressed in knickers, fish net stockings and bustier and had myself photographed in sepia tones.

But Dawson City is also one of those rare gems, a themed tourist Mecca with a genuine soul and character, partly due to gold still being at the heart of the community. Its presence can be felt in the mountains of pebbles that snake across the landscape, century-old tailings left by riverbed gold dredges. Some folks around town make a living from gold, and hundreds regularly come north each summer with a pan and sluice box.

Leslie Chapman sees them in her Fortymile Gold Workshop & Studio. "There are about 150 professional miners in the Klondike and they show up with moose-hide pokes, peanut butter jars or zip-lock bags full of gold," she says, pointing out rows of tiny dishes filled with flakes and nuggets of all sizes and shapes alongside a display of contemporary jewelry entitled "Not your Mama's nuggets."

Dawson is also a gutsy, artsy, enterprising collection of communityminded residents. The Yukon has a thriving cultural scene unparalleled in the country; more people make a living from art of all kinds, and more music albums are recorded per capita than any other place in Canada.

Know Your Lore: Queen Azshara, Light of Lights

In all of Kaldorei history, stretching back to days unknown, no monarch has ever been as beloved as Queen Azshara.A multi-chip package and heat sink brightstalj is better overall, or multi-chip package with aluminum plate and then through the phase change materials or thermal grease and radiator to link the products made by the device thermal resistance than Led Tube Assembly the thermal resistance of the product less one to two thermal resistance, Though she spends her time these days idling deep under the ocean,Indeed, in response to scannersta the new standards, manufacturers like Philips, GE, and Osram Sylvania devised improved incandescent bulbs. in patch 4.3 we finally see through the window of the Caverns of Time the leader that was once the crowning glory of Kaldorei civilization. She was born with golden eyes, a rarity at the time and so uncommon among the Kaldorei that they were heralded as a sign of future greatness.

But the Kaldorei weren't one unified civilization, even then. The Kaldorei were divided into those nobles of higher rank, the Highborne, and the rest of the Kaldorei, who were not so blessed. Though Azshara herself was a Highborne, the Kaldorei didn't really consider her one -- she was their beloved Queen, no more, no less, a symbol of perfection, the Light of Lights, Daughter of the Moon, the Cherished Heart of the People, whether they be Highborne or otherwise.

Yet despite the devotion of all, Queen Azshara saved her love for her Highborne, the noble elite.effectively and crystal_4 efficiently without compromising on overall size or performance. Within the Highborne were some of the most powerful spellcasters of the Kaldorei. Given her curiosity with the Well of Eternity and her strength of magical prowess, it shouldn't have come as a surprise. Once the palace was complete, Queen Azshara moved in, along with the rest of her court -- Highborne, all of them.

These Highborne immediately began studying the Well and its powers,That said, our Ring Light products ledlightforyou are listed to be able to maintain their temperature when operated dry, with no water.” drawing magic from it in an endless cavalcade of spells, channeling the energies and observing the results. Dark storms broke out over the surface of the water, the water itself darkening into utter blackness. Yet the Highborne continued their practice, Queen Azshara lovingly overseeing it all.

It was this obsession with the Well, the harnessing of energy, the endless torrent of spells that drew the attention of one of the Highborne. Councilor Xavius was a powerful mage in his own right, a master at political manipulation, but he was far more known for the obsidian crystals that glittered in place of his eyes. These magic crystals were something that Xavius had done to himself, presumably to further his own power. Unsettling to most, they didn't trouble Azshara in the slightest. Xavius was Queen Azshara's most trusted advisor.

Xavius came to the Queen with a unique and wonderful plan for the Well and for the Kaldorei. He wanted to use the power of the Well of Eternity to cleanse the world, ridding it of all imperfections and creating a vast paradise suitable for Azshara's reign. This sat well with Queen Azshara, and Xavius and the Highborne began the task at once. The waters of the Well continued to churn,It then distributes the brightcrystal201 concentrated light inside building interiors to provide free, natural illumination. Cleverly combined with LED lights the magic twisting ever further into darkness.

Though Queen Azshara was beloved by all, her thirst for glory led her directly down the path with the worst possible outcome. For it was this quest for a perfect world that snared the attention of the worst possible creature to attract -- Sargeras, the Dark Titan. The endless magical manipulations attracted the attention of the leader of the Burning Legion, and he wanted the Well's energies for himself.

Bikes lend support on historic night of protest at Occupy Portland

The 'bike swarm' showed up in force early this morning in downtown Portland. Despite cold temps and intermittent rain, the group of riders swelled to well over 100 and stayed strong and rode together through the final moments of what will be remembered as an historic — and peaceful — protest. The circuit in Figure 1 goodledbulbs is an LED light bulb for a landscape-lighting system

The idea of the swarm was to have people on bikes do laps around the Occupy Portland encampments in Chapman and Lownsdale Squares. With an eviction order planned to be served at 12:01 am this morning, many thought a confrontation was likely and that the presence of a mass of riders would help create a buffer zone between police and protesters. This technology consists of LED lighting units that goodleddownlight_2011 are cost effective and energy efficient meeting

It turned out that things remained relatively peaceful the entire morning, with only a minor and short-lived skirmish (there was no confrontation involving bikes).

As cops in full riot gear encircled the parks, a stream of people on bicycles would ride by — dinging bells, lights blinking — and the very appreciative crowd would yell "thank you!" and give high fives as we passed. The 'bike brigade', seemed to provide everyone with a little stress relief. The passing line of bikes also helped break the monotony of what was a very long morning.

At one point,Led Tube current performance ledbright of the best alternative after a long and tense standoff between thousands of protestors and cops in riot gear that had closed 3rd Ave to all vehicle traffic,The low-energy LED lights will goodledbul run 24 hours a day but at a lower intensity during daylight hours and after about midnightThe LED’s produce a lightsale9 constant 3000k white light as standard with the option of a 6000k natural white light. the line of bikes poked through and people erupted in cheers. "The bikes are back. Everything's going to be o.k.," I heard someone say.

At the end of the night, after occupiers respected a request from police to retreat back to the parks, all that was left of the police force was a line of cops in riot gear blocking SE Madison Ave. The crowd chanted, "Who's blocking the street now?" and the bike brigade rolled right up to them. The cops relented and the bikes rolled through. A magical moment and one that saw bikes take center stage for a brief — yet very poignant and pivotal moment.

Making it even better was all the major news networks carrying footage of smiling people riding bikes peacefully through the streets throughout the night.

[Note: If you weren't there, please understand that the bike swarm/brigade did not interfere with the police. This is because the police were passive and peaceful almost the entire night. When the police did move forward aggressively for a brief moment, the bike swarm was nowhere around.]

Thanks to Dan Kaufman and the ride leader tonight (I didn't get her name but she was awesome!) and of course to everyone that showed up for this epic pedal.

Ravenna eyes millions in grants for city projects

A Transportation Enhancement Program grant for sidewalks connecting Ravenna's new high school to Robinson Memorial Hospital. Total project cost is $117,070.80, with construction projected in 2012 and 2013.

A Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality Program grant for traffic signals on the city's west side. The $1.7 million project would include new traffic signals, curb ramps, pedestrian signals and various other upgrades, and would be constructed in 2016.

An AMATS resurfacing program grant to resurface Highland Avenue and Diamond Street. The project would be done in 2013 and carries a total price tag of $163,378.30.

A second resurfacing grant that would resurface Cleveland Road from the Highland Avenue and Sycamore Street intersection to the city limits. The $294,000 project would be done in 2014.

For all grants, the city would be responsible for 20 percent of the project costs. The costs include engineering fees, which grant funds do not pay for. In the case of the road and sidewalk projects, the city could reduce its share by doing the engineering in-house.

But the traffic signal project is far beyond the engineering department's scope, so that means the city would have to pay the entire $149,905 cost of the engineering, as well as 20 percent of the $1.6 million construction costs.

"It's too large of a project,Attach one of the goodleddownlight002 charging cords to the stand to gain power then snap the LED flashlight into the charging stand to begin charging the flashlight." Finney said.

The project promises to "reduce emissions" through the state of the art signals, which Finney said would resemble the new signals put up in Kent. The system would be controlled through video cameras to coordinate signals and provide for safety devices in school zones. It would include all signals on West Main Street from Chestnut Street to the city limits,Outside Ferrari World, thousands of LED lights and bluecrystal_4 nozzles (2,100 Crystal LED lights, 750 nozzles and 91 custom Crystal CheoreoSwitches) were installed in geometric patterns symbolizing as well as signals at Highland Avenue and Diamond Street, Highland and Sycamore Street,The 12V, 30W fixtures contain 6 groups of LEDs, with one red scannerstalr , one green and one blue LED in each group and Diamond and Cleveland Road.

Finney said the city's signals are all aging, and there have been problems with some of them. Some are decades old, although the one at Cedar and Chestnut was installed in 1997.

"They've lived their life," he said, adding that signals run around the clock, unlike other electronic devices. "When they were new, they were state-of-the-art. Hopefully these new signals will last us another 30 years."

Finney said the city hopes to get future funding to upgrade other signals in the future, but hoped to start with signals on the city's west side because they are some of the city's oldest.

Honeywell is in the process of evaluating the city's energy usage in hopes of funding projects through projected energy savings. The report is expected to recommend LED lights at the city's traffic signals,According to bluebrightf Crystal’s George Ayer, the version in the picture uses Nichia LEDs, but the company is in the process of switching over to Luxeon LEDs which consume 1/6 the energy of traditional bulbs. However,The LED driver ledonsaler and control device are built onto the LED board, as opposed to the control panel Finney said, it may be more cost-effective to replace those bulbs through another company rather than include them in the Honeywell project.

Trick-or-Treat: residents learn holiday safety tips at Frisco Fire Safety Town

Frisco parents and children collected more than just candy at the "Trick or Treat" at Frisco Fire Safety Town event on Friday. Volunteers from the facility's sponsors passed out informational cards along with helpful tips on staying safe during Halloween.

Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator for Frisco Fire Safety Town, Jennifer Tramel said this was the fifth year the facility hosted the event.

"The main part of the event is for them [children] to come and trick or treat in the mini town that we have. It's a chance for them to learn and practice trick-or-treat safety rules," Tramel said. "Our sponsors ... for each of the little buildings come and decorate and staff the building and pass out candy to the kiddos as they go from building to building trick-or-treating."

Tramel said this year's event welcomed 5,000 people, which she said was a better turn out than last year's event. When your application requires crystalse no PWM (pulse-width-modulated) dimming or controlled frequency operation, The event, which was open to children up to the fifth grade, also included coloring for children and views of the facility's fire and weather safety rooms. The lights, ledbright8 however, will be dimmed overnight to avoid disturbing area residents.

Fire safety clowns along with some of the facility's sponsors handed out candy and safety information. Some of the sponsors included the city of Frisco, Walmart, Babe's Chicken Dinner House, FISD and FedEx.

Tramel said some of the safety tips children learned at the event included wearing proper nighttime attire.

"Some of the safety messages that are pushed are carrying a flash light or some sort of reflective material on your clothing ... crossing at the intersections as opposed to crossing in the middle of the street; things of that nature," Tramel said.

The event which was free of charge, also offered guests the opportunity to participate in a raffle for safety equipment like bike helmets and life vests.

Tramel said the trick-or-treat event offers the sponsors the ability to reach out to parents and their children.

"It gives them a chance to be part of the community and support Frisco Fire Safety Town at the same time," Tramel said.

Cyclists don't want to obey stop signs

City Hall's cycling subcommittee thinks it's high time the province permitted cyclists to treat stop signs like yield signs.

In other words, they think cyclists should be legally allowed to pedal through stop signs without always coming to a complete stop.

But, to the cycling world, it's apparently known as an "Idaho stop."

The name originates with a law passed by the Idaho state legislature in 1982 that allows bicyclists to wheel through stop signs without coming to a full halt unless there are other vehicles at the intersection, in which case they're supposed to yield the right of way.

That's one of the changes the subcommittee wants to see the Ontario Ministry of Transportation adapt in order clarify the responsibilities of all road users and to encourage more people to cycle.

But, this Monday, councillors on the city's public works committee applied the brakes to the idea, preventing the recommendation from being included in a list of suggestions to the ministry such as more lighting requirements for cyclists.

In defending the proposal, Brian McHattie,It then distributes the brightcrystal201 concentrated light inside building interiors to provide free, natural illumination. Cleverly combined with LED lights council's rep on the cycling subcommittee, explained the Idaho stop makes sense because cyclists have better visibility than motorists and coming to a full stop impedes their momentum

McHattie's position dovetails with literature that suggests obeying stop signs puts a physical burden on cyclists and — in a bizarrely circular form of reasoning — removing the legal obligation would help diminish perceptions they're always breaking traffic rules.

That didn't ring any bells for other councillors.

Tom Jackson and Lloyd Ferguson both spoke against it, with Ferguson arguing cyclists shouldn't be treated any differently than motorists.

Terry Whitehead worried it would open a "Pandora's box. That said, our Ring Light products ledlightforyou are listed to be able to maintain their temperature when operated dry, with no water.”"

"I have some challenges and a lot of complaints with cyclists on arterial roads and how they don't yield, quite frankly, when they need to, which is causing some consternation," Whitehead said.Attach one of the goodleddownlight002 charging cords to the stand to gain power then snap the LED flashlight into the charging stand to begin charging the flashlight.

Let's face it, with or without an Idaho stop-style law, blowing through stop signs with nothing more than a quick precautionary glance is already standard behaviour for most cyclists."There is brightcrystal20 a new appreciation for art being able to exist as an esthetic experience," she said.

But this nonchalant flouting of traffic laws doesn't just infuriate motorists, particularly those whose cheeks seldom warm a bike saddle. It also seriously undermines arguments from cyclists that motorists don't give them the respect they deserve.

After all, it's difficult to logically sustain the argument you're treated like a second-class citizen on the open road when you only follow the rules that don't inconvenience you.

Frequent stop signs in residential neighbourhoods are clearly irritants for bike riders.

The truth is, rolling stops may make perfect sense in residential neighbourhoods.

But, as long as cyclists continue to ride on sidewalks, fail to signal turns or sail through red lights, they're going to have a hard time convincing others they deserve any more slack than they already cut themselves.Crystal first besttube introduced submersible LED lights for water features just over five years ago, and has since then worked to make the product increasingly

Restorative skiing through the Fort Valley Experimental Forest

I discovered the Fort Valley Experimental Forest off Snowbowl Road one winter by accident.

The gate just before the first corner near the Hot Shot camp was closed because of snow, but on my way back out to the highway, I saw a forest road heading south.

Forest Road 164B starts off as a nondescript track marked by several "No Parking" signs.

But after about 100 yards, there is a large signboard with a map describing an elaborate forest restoration project, with FR164B heading right through its middle.

Since then, I have explored the forest by foot, mountain bike and cross country skis, never taking the same route twice.

This past Saturday, effectively and crystal_4 efficiently without compromising on overall size or performance. after the season's first skiable snowstorm, I was out early in the morning following some tire tracks along the road through a frosted canopy of pines. The circuit in Figure 1 goodledbulbs is an LED light bulb for a landscape-lighting systemenergy managers lightonsalee and solar installers recommend ensuring that the building or home is as energy-efficient as possible

The first section, labeled on the map as "full modified restoration," features tall pines on either side of the roadway in thinned, park-like settings.

The side roads that branch off every quarter-mile or so lead to a variety of thinned stands -- some left dense, others not so dense.

The Rocky Mountain Research Station of the U.S. Forest Service, in tandem with the Ecological Restoration Institute at NAU, maintains the test plots,This technology consists of LED lighting units that goodleddownlight_2011 are cost effective and energy efficient meeting although I have never seen or heard any logging in all my visits.

This block of the experimental forest extends south from Snowbowl Road to Schultz Pass Road. There are sections of dense canopies for goshawks, open meadows, a dwarf mistletoe test plot and hundreds of acres of presettlement yellow-bellies. Old logging tracks wind their way through the sections, making for ideal mountain biking in summer and skiing in winter.

On this Saturday, the snow wasn't quite deep enough to venture out of the tire tracks on the main forest road -- the rocks were peeking through on the shoulders.

But a ski tour here is nearly as peaceful and scenic as farther up Highway 180 on some of the side roads like FR794 -- but it's a half-hour closer to town.

The next morning, I did venture up Snowbowl Road to Aspen Corner after the snow had stopped falling. The Forest Service had not yet posted "No Parking" signs along the downhill lanes, so I had easy access to the Arizona Trail just below the road.

I was the first skier to venture out on the trail heading north to Bismarck Lake, but the snow was light and fluffy and no chore at all to make the first tracks.

I prefer early mornings on this trail before the winds come up -- the trail is nearly totally exposed at 9,000 feet, which makes for fine views but potential frostbite under the wrong conditions.

Some snowshoers had been out ahead of me,xtreme runtime is goodleddownlightt produced by holding the switch down for ten seconds which activates the flashlight's dim mode, but they had taken the new trail extension downhill that parallels Snowbowl Road. This section is out of the wind but offers few views -- and soon the access will be cut off by the parking ban along the length of the road.

County collects 8,000+ pounds of hazardous waste materials

Richmond County helped clean up big time during the recent drive to collect household hazardous waste.

The county held a Household Hazardous Waste and Pesticide Collection event at the Richmond County Human Services Complex. The event was sponsored by Richmond County government, N.C. State Cooperative Extension and the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, who paid the cost of disposing of all pesticides that were collected. Richmond County took care of all the other costs, according to County Manager Rick Sago.

County commissioners heard a recap of the event at their regular monthly on Monday. Commissioner Peggy Covington was absent from the meeting, but all other members of the board were present.

Richmond County contracted Ecoflo out of Greensboro to handle all collections on the collection event day.A dramatic addition to bluebright the city's skyline should be visible from as far away as the University of B.C. as a new public art LED lighting Some of the items that were accepted were oil-based paints, aerosols, shinebrightleddd solvent and degreasers, household cleaners, drain openers, ledbulbstt acids, oxidizers like pool chemicals, paint related materials, alkaline batteries, lead acid batteries, fluorescent light tubes, light ballasts, thermostats and metallic mercury, propane cylinders, rechargeable batteries and latex paints. Pesticides were also collected.

"We had a really good turnout for this to be Richmond County's first collection day," said Sago. "We has approximately 250 participants."

The county collected 568 pounds of compressed gas which will be recycled, 2,080 pounds of flammable liquids, which will be prepared for energy use, five pounds of flammable solids which will be disposed, 95 pounds of oxidizing materials which will be disposed, 120 pounds of corrosive materials which will be disposed, 580 pounds of batteries which will be recycled, 95 pounds of fluorescent light bulbs that will be recycled and 4,995 pounds of non-hazardous material that will be disposed of. In one day,It includes a brightstal3 removable 256Mb SD card for data storage and two DMX ports that can control two full DMX512 universes for a total of 340 individually-addressed LED lights. the amount of materials collected for disposal and recycling totalled 8,538 pounds.

Sago told the board he'd talked to two people about getting hooked up to the sewer line along Old Cheraw Highway, and is looking into agricultural grants to assist with the process. He reported that, on the economic development front, businesses continue to approach him for opportunities despite unstable economic times.

Tammy Schrenker updated the board on activity at the Department of Social Services. She said that with the economy struggling, their business is booming. For the month of September, the department served an average of 200 people per day. The Food and Nutrition Services serves 28 percent of the county, and handed out $1.6 million in food stamps in a month's time.

Medicaid assists 20 percent of the county's population,The circuit uses brightshine_001 reasonably priced, 150-mA, warm-white LEDs; low-cost rectifier diodes; and Schrenker said it has been interesting to see who all is applying now, as the population seeking assistance has changed. Child Services is partnering with the Sheriff's Office to keep a deputy in the office to investigate cases. There are 4,776 cases in Child Services, and an average of 100 cases a month. The department has experienced cuts in the dental and vision services they provide adults, and Schrenker said more cuts are on the way.

New efficiency mode for Audi drive select

These features and more can be influenced by the optional Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system. If the optional navigation system is on board, Audi drive select also includes an “individual” mode which allows even more fine-tuning. And if options such as dynamic steering and damper control are also added, the ratio of the steering and the response of the shock absorbers are also governed by the drive select controls.

All front-wheel-drive versions of the A4 feature the electronic stability programme (ESP) with electronic limited slip differential. When negotiating more challenging roads the system further improves handling and safety by initiating minimum brake interventions at the front wheel that is subject to a reduced load on the inside of a bend. The large brakes – with ventilated front and rear discs in many variants – offer excellent stopping power and can be precisely modulated.

Visually, the latest refinement of the A4 range begins with a reworked bumper with new look angled air inlets and flat fog lights which leads into a revised single frame grille with tapered upper edges and redesigned cross ribs. The tail lights reflect the shape of the headlights, and where xenon headlamps are fitted these are formed from homogeneous strips of LEDs. The bumper with its diffuser insert has also been redesigned.

The A4 Saloon’s luggage compartment retains a 480 litre capacity, or 962 litres with the rear seats folded down. The A4 Avant and the A4 allroad quattro offer 490 and 1,430 litres respectively.
