Green Fleet Systems opens operations here

When the California father and son team of Gary and Kyle Mooney decided to expand their clean-burning drayage operation beyond the successes it had sustained at the West Coast ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, it didn't take them long to zero in on Savannah.

"Our first order of business will be to set up drayage operations and the container yard," said Green Fleet director Dennis Cravens, who will work with Relihan in getting the new operation up and running.

"Phase two will be to set up warehousing as we do for our customers in California," Cravens said, adding he expects to add a minimum of 25 jobs within the next calendar year.

The Mooney's founded Green Fleet Systems to find a potential market for the operation of alternative-fuel-powered tractors. Before long, they were a professionally organized drayage company, operating clean-burning vehicles out of the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.Buy Battery Operated modernlighting, Batteries, Rechargeable Battery Candles, and Chargers at deep discount.

The company's first big break came in September 2007, when it was awarded a grant subsidy for 14 tractors powered by liquefied natural gas from the Port of Los Angeles under the Clean Air Action Plan -- an aggressive measure taken by the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to drastically reduce emissions from trucks and other forms of transportation in the Southern California Basin.

In 2008, Green Fleet acquired Pac-Rim Container Service, Inc., a leader in the harbor drayage business for over 20 years.

"We are further growing our business by offering flexible solutions to our clients, providing outstanding levels of service and ensuring the highest safety standards," Cravens said.

The company will continue to grow through the use of alternative-fuel tractors and targeted acquisitions, he said.

The switch to alternative-fuel tractors will be gradual in Savannah,Browse through our impressive range of bestcflbulbs and buy online now. Kyle Mooney said.

"In California, we operate with LNG or clean-diesel power," he said.Take a dollar-store flickering ledlighting003, add an AVR ATtiny13 and a little code, and you get an LED candle that looks almost real.MRay Lighting are LED Tubes, ledbright, LED Bulb manufacturers and suppliers. "Our goal is to replicate that here, but we first need the infrastructure."

There are currently no LNG fueling stations here, for example. With my crystallight I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me.

That's not stopping Green Fleet from doing what they can right now, Cravens said.

This month, the company is working with Duke Realty to replace old lighting technology on the 6-acre container/equipment yard.

"The new technology and changes to the lighting in the yard will have fewer bulbs and less wattage but give about the same amount of light for security at night," he said.

Green Fleets' environmental responsibility dovetails well with Georgia Ports sustainable initiatives, said Cliff Pyron, Georgia Ports Authority's Chief Commercial Officer.
