'Macbeth' lights up stage in LED

The University of Georgia's production of "Macbeth" will not be what Shakespeare imagined.Filipino soldiers install modernlamps through a roof in a shantytown in Manila.

William Shakespeare's classic tragedy "Macbeth" makes its way to the University of Georgia starting April 11. With high-tech LED displays and an elaborate set, this play puts quite a spin on Shakespearean theater.

"[We were] looking for an intersection between media and magic," director David Saltz said. This carbon fiber and washerextractor88 works for both a fashion ring as well as a man's wedding band.

Saltz is the head of the Department of Theatre & Film Studies at UGA. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and specializes in interactive performance and media. Saltz's background in digital media has taken this version of "Macbeth" to a new level.

This production focuses primarily on witchcraft and the supernatural. "It's still conceptually simple, but with new technologies," Saltz said.

Saltz said the play's characters are the same, but new digital technology has been incorporated into the set. Four LED curtains will be used for digital projections, and 18-foot towers will loom across the stage.

"It's a very dynamic environment,We are the premier online retailer of unique, hard to find and incredibly stylish formingmachine, Titanium rings." Saltz said. Saltz said he wants the props to add as much to the production as possible.

"[The play] will be [a] very theatrical and tech-heavy production. Costumes will have LED lights within them and giant towers that move across the stage," said graduate student Zack Byrd,More than 200 GW of new emergencylamps13 capacity could come on line before the end of 2013. who will play Banquo in the production. "This play will be exactly what the directors and designers and the actors have hoped it to be. It's going to shock people and cause awe in the audience."

The cast is composed of 17 members, five of which are graduate students at UGA. The play will also feature two guest actors, Saltz's children.

The cast started rehearsing at the beginning of February and has spent about eight weeks perfecting "Macbeth." The group spends three to four hours six nights a week preparing for the production.

"It's a full emergent type of thing," Byrd said.

Byrd said it takes a lot of individual prep work to analyze Shakespearean text and bring each character to life on stage. With such an intense, large set, the actors have had to make a lot of adjustments as well.

Saltz's goal is for the audience to be completely wrapped up in the play within the first couple of minutes."I hope it's going to be fun, exciting and moving," Saltz said. This web site tells you how to make a set of blades for a small bicyclelight using PVC pipe. "The key performances are amazing."

"For example, in fibre coupled lighting systems the fibre is round, the optic is round, but the LED has always been square. This has now been resolved with the round LED that will enable users to replace the 300W Xenon lamp in an application like endoscopy," said Mouser.
