Green Mountain Coffee Roasters unveils new Keurig brewing system

In an interview with the Burlington Free Press, Larry Blanford, president and chief executive of the Waterbury-based Green Mountain Coffee,Limited supply LED Writing Board,bluecrystal1,Fluorescence Board,Fluorescent Board,Menu Board, LED Menu Board. said the new system gives customers what they want most in a single-serving brewer and portion packs.

"I think we did hit on all the major consumer insights," Blanford said following Green Mountain Coffee's debut of the Vue in an upscale Manhattan hotel Wednesday.

Green Mountain Coffee has a patent on the Vue system that will last through 2021, which many analysts see as critically importaBrowse through our impressive range of ledbright and buy online now.nt as the company's current patents on the K-Cup expire in September.MonkeyLectric Monkey Electric bike wheel light led visible night ride goodcflbulbs safe safety cruiser bmx scraper road city winter rain color commute work ... Blanford downplayed the importance of the patent protection the company has secured for the Vue system, but he added that the Vue system "positions us nicely as a leader in single-serve coffee."

Extensive market research showed that current Keurig users wanted to be able to brew stronger coffee, hotter coffee and bigger portions of coffee — up to 18 ounces to fill travel mugs — than they could with the current brewer, Blanford said. The Vue system has all those capabilities, he said, with the option to brew coffee at up to 197 degrees instead of the current limit of 192 degrees.

The new Vue portion pack also is partially recyclable, with a container made from No. 5 plastic. After the lid, which has been designed to contain the coffee and filter, is peeled off the container, the container itself can be recycled. The lid still must be thrown away. The current K-Cup portion pack is not recyclable, which has been a source of criticism for the company.

"We've heard from consumers who have a big concern about the K-Cup," said Paul Comey, vice president of environmental affairs. Comey called the partially recyclable Vue cup a "huge step," and said Green Mountain Coffee will continue to pursue materials that will make the current K-Cup recyclable.

"So far, we don't have a perfect solution, but it's not from lack of trying," he said.

Another new feature of the Keurig Vue brewer and portion pack is a two-step process that makes cappuccinos,Shop online for r4onsalele. The first portion pack brews the milky foam for the drink, while a second pack adds the coffee.

Green Mountain Coffee is launching its new brewing system in conjunction with Bed, Bath and Beyond, where the Vue brewer and portion packs will become available "in the coming weeks," Stacy said. The Vue also will be available online.Whether you want the complete package with very high end dual beam strobes, or basic crystal ...

To begin, the company will offer only its premium Vue brewer, priced at $250. The brewer features a programmable color touch screen and a removable 74-ounce water reservoir with built-in LED lighting. In the coming months, Stacy said two lower-priced models will be introduced.

Blanford opened Wednesday's presentation at the Le Parker Meridien hotel on West 56th Street by introducing himself as the "head coach" of Green Mountain Coffee. He said the Vue system was "truly a manifestation" of the two units of the company — Keurig, headed by Stacy, and the specialty coffee business unit, headed by Scott McCreary — working together.
