Christmas was over, and it was time to take down the tree at my married daughter's house. No one really wanted to do it. Everybody loved the tree with its sparkling tinsel, its glowing lights, and its shining ornaments. But sooner or later, the space a Christmas tree takes up in a house needs to be reallocated to other things.
Celese talked to her husband, Jimmy, about it. He agreed it was time to pack the Christmas decorations into storage for another year. They made the decision that they would do it the next day right after Jimmy got home from work.
But all of that changed the next morning when, as Jimmy prepared to head to work, he could not find his keys. Jimmy works for the Navy at a weapons research facility, and a person losing their keys is not a small matter.
Celese and Jimmy turned their house upside down looking for them until he was late for work, but the keys seemed to have just disappeared. Jimmy had to find other ways to make due all day at work, borrowing part of Celese's keys so he could drive there. Celese, meanwhile, continued to hunt all over the house.
When Jimmy got home, all thoughts of anything, besides finding the keys, were set aside. Boxing up the Christmas decorations would have to wait. Almost a week and a half passed with the family spending every free minute continuing the search. They looked over and over in every place they could imagine the keys could be, and some they couldn't imagine. Jimmy and Celese sat down and tried to retrace every step Jimmy had taken on the day previous to when they were lost.
"The only thing I can remember for sure about them,They've been around for many many years but it wasn't until the late 1980's that there use was integrated into besttube-led." he said, "is that I used them to drive home that day. And we didn't go anywhere after that, so they have to be somewhere in or around the house."
They considered the vehicles, and went through both of them, but no keys. They thought about the dog, and checked his house and where he liked to bury his bones. Still no keys. The dog, for his part, was not pleased to have them raiding what he considered his bank account.
They went through every inch of the house and found many lost things, but not the keys.

Finally, exasperated, Jimmy determined that he would just have to do the unenviable task of reporting the keys missing, and request a new set.
"Well, then," Celese said, "maybe we should put the house back together and pack away Christmas so we can carry on normally again."
Jimmy agreed, knowing that having the house organized once more would help them all feel less agitated. He volunteered to take down the Christmas tree while Celese stacked things back into the cupboards.
But as Jimmy was taking apart the tree, he found something unexpected. There, hanging on a low branch, were his keys.
